Description

The life of Vuk Echtner is the story of an exceptionally gifted man who, despite poverty, life's ups and downs, and political persecution, managed to devote all his abilities to serving others. Through Esperanto, he found his way to the blind and to the Baha'i Faith, and became a teacher, translator, and organizer whose work influenced many people at home and abroad. However, his fate was also marked by imprisonment in the harshest prisons of the 1950s. Despite this, he retained an extraordinary optimism and inner strength with which he continued his work until the end of his life. The book not only provides a biography of a remarkable personality, but also a testimony to a time when the ideals of understanding, humanity, and service to others were not taken for granted.
